reunited with my beloved sewing machine

When I was in high school, I was interested in sewing so my mom taught me how and I made a few dresses. I haven't played around with my old machine since then, but after finding this pattern I brought it out of the closet and bought a spare part it was missing. I immediately knew I wanted to make dozens of these shirts in all different materials because of the easy, breezy shape. It's just the kind of shirt I like to wear through the summer when the temperatures are making me an unpleasant person to be around.

I bought the material at a yard sale the other week for about 50¢ without knowing what to use it for. It was some sort of utilitarian/household material before, but it feels great as a shirt!

Paisley tank

p.s. I was itching to try to lengthen this pattern to make a tank dress, but I just realized that Jen (the pattern creator) has already done that! That will definitely be my next project.

ps. art education sounds perfect. excited to hear how that develops.

pps. My parents had a great time! they brought me back some lovely things. (they got themselves a beautiful music festival poster? have you seen this years?) I was also looking at the savanah art design school catologue, which was very colourful and neat ...... xxxo
